Acupuncture and Health Care

Acupuncture is most widely recognized for its ability to relieve pain, especially in the hand, foot, back or leg. However, as alternative medicine it is effective for many other conditions and is considered a primary form of health care for millions of people worldwide. More and more, insurance companies offer coverage for acupuncture, and traditional western doctors are including it in their practices. Some courts order acupuncture for drug and alcohol addiction treatment.

The practice of acupuncture includes more than the insertion of needles. In the United States an acupuncturist is also trained in the use of herbs as medication. Many practitioners use cupping, Gua Sha, tuning forks, electro-stimulation, Moxabustion, massage, Qi Gong and Tai Qi as additional forms of treatment. All of these techniques are described in our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.

An acupuncturist is able to treat internal health issues. In the arena of both women’s health, and mens', we are able to treat weight loss, depression, diabetes, herpes, migraine headaches, insomnia, painful, irregular periods, PMS, infertility, and most all commonly diagnosed diseases and their symptoms.
